    Introduction  ◾Mining is the second industry to develop after civilization invented farming . ◾It has played a key role in development of the early civilization and has been contributing to our Modern world since the early days. ◾ Mining is basically extraction of any naturally occurring mineral substance, whether solid, liquid or gas from the earth for utilitarian purposes.  Terminology  ◾  Mine  - Excavations made in earth for the purpose of extracting minerals. ◾  Mining  - Activity concerned with the extraction of the minerals from earth. ◾  Minerals  - A naturally occurring inorganic element or compound having an orderly internal structure and a characteristic chemical composition crystal form and physical properties.
